Meeting of the delegation of the EuroMed Feminist Initiative ( EFI) and the Regional Observatory on Violence against Women and Girls VAWG with the National Council for Women (NCW) July 21, 2022

The delegation of the EuroMed Feminist Initiative ( EFI) and the Regional Observatory on Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) met with representatives of the National Council for Women (NCW) at the Council's headquarters in Cairo on Thursday, July 21, 2022.

Where they discussed aspects of cooperation between EFI and the NCW in areas related to the advancement of women and the strengthening of their role in society in all fields and levels, especially in the southern Mediterranean region.

The two parties also discussed ways to enhance and exchange experiences related to following up on the implementation of the ministerial recommendations of the Union for the Mediterranean on strengthening the role of women in society, especially in following up on the implementation of the recommendations of the fourth ministerial declaration - the 2017 Cairo Declaration - and also in the context of preparations for the fifth UFM ministerial declaration this year, especially in areas of combating violence against women and girls (VAWG) and the role of the Regional Observatory on (VAWG) on violence against women and girls in issuing the regional indicator on (VAWG) in the southern Mediterranean region.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed on the necessity of framing the cooperation between the National Council for Women NCW and the EuroMed Feminist Initiative EFI in a way that contributes to the advancement of women's rights and their role in the national and regional level.
